Temporary Power Outage Notice on Royal Palm Drive

Beginning at approximately 10 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, Florida Power and Light (FPL) and Ferreira Construction Co., Inc. crews will remove power lines from a concrete pole located Las Olas Boulevard at Isle of Palms Drive that provides power to Royal Palm Drive. The power lines will be rerouted a new underground switch on Las Olas Boulevard at San Marco Drive.

All properties along Royal Palm Drive will experience a temporary power outage for up to two hours while this work is completed.

This power conversion process will only take place along Las Olas Boulevard in the areas described above. Access inside homes along Royal Palm Drive is not required. All construction team members will have visible proof of identification.

Temporary Power Outage Notice on Las Olas Isles

The following update only applies to neighbors on Bontona Avenue that remains to be converted to underground power. All other isles have been converted.

Crews are converting individual properties from the existing overhead power to the new underground power. This process requires shutting off power to each residence for up to 2 hours (minimum shutoff time is 30 minutes). Crews will attempt to knock on the door and let residents know in advance of the power shutoff at each property.

Residents with special needs (necessary equipment, dialysis machines, etc.) that cannot be disabled should contact Senior Project Manager Gary Foster at 954-828-6233 or gfoster@fortlauderdale.gov as soon as possible to make appropriate arrangements.

This power conversion process will only take place in the exterior of each home as crews will need to access the existing meters and connection points. Access inside homes is not required and all construction team members will have visible proof of identification.
